2nd BSP for GDM

2nd of BSP (blood sugar profile) test for 29 weeks pregnancy.  Carbohydrates day w little protein and fiber. 😅 Hence sugar spike higher than 1st BSP.  Conclusion of this experience :  1. Fact - despite fruits has glucose and fructose, it won't spike your blood sugar. The fiber in the fruits helps regulate by slowing down the sugar absorption into the blood from stomach.  2. Fact - sugary drink respond rapidly in boosting sugar level.  ADVICE to all the Diabetic friends and non-diabetic friends : follow the food plate. 1/4 carbs, 1/4 protein, 1/2 veg + fruits.  I know is hard to follow the food plates.  My golden rules : 1/4 carbs & top up fibers   A.  Post breakfast 1pm   5.1mmol/L Breakfast 10am ( mix berries smoothies + 1/4 big pau w chicken filling + milo)  1130am 1/2 big pear B.  Post Lunch 4pm      6.8mmol/L Lunch @2pm (pan mee + less sugar soy bean milk)  C.  Post dinner 8.30pm.  ...

The Consistency of Workout

I wish I am as skinny as the 'me' in the mirror!  But you know what?   Health should not be judged by your body size but how you take care of it!   Guess what's my achievement today? I was amazed because I really hate to do push up. 10 push up! How to achieve that? The consistency of workout.   First of all, educate yourself the  importance of exercise for health.  Second, pick up the   exercise you enjoy   doing it. Third, you need to  be discipline. It would be great if you have  support from people  around. Last , just do it!

Straits Quay Organic Market

Mushroom burger was selling fast today #organicmarket #linglokitchen It's hard to maintain the niche market and I can be quite demotivated by it sometimes. Anyway, it is meant for fun only. Thanks to those who gave compliment and courage to me early this month so that 'mushroom burger' and 'mushroom balls' back again this evening. Of course, there are people like the special homemade granola bar with no sugar added. Still, I would prefer to do it by pre-order so that I won't be too rush in preparation. When I am relax and calm, I cook better too. 😆

The Best Home Made Pizza in Penang

Delicious Meatless Homemade Pizza and Salad Seriously this guy made really good pizza and salad. Really. I would say the best homemade pizza in Penang, much better than those in the restaurant. Thanks Molly for inviting me over your place and it's such a pleasure to enjoy your hubby's super good homemade pizza and your homemade watermelon mints cocktail. And of course, a little talk with everyone. Pesto Based Pizza Pesto pizza with green capsicum, white onion. beech/shimeji mushroom and parmesan cheese. Stephen made a very good pesto with basil, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper even without using any nuts. Ohh, my last making pesto was a year ago. I should start picking up the skills again! From base to paste, all are homemade. I like the way Stephen makes pizza, a little touch of everything into perfection. It tastes so natural or I should say oh... it tastes organic! Many times when we bought pizza from Domino, Pizza Huts or any restaurant, the base of pi...

The Hainan Legacy : Culinary Roots and Communities @ GeorgetownFestival 2015

The Hainan Legacy: They Came, They Tasted, They Innovated          2015-8-15: At  Wanning  Association. Thank you Burmah 108 for the special invitation to allow me to join this volunteering  event in Georgetown festival culinary roots and communities dinner - 'modern  Hainanese  meal in an authentic setting'. It has been a great experience for me. The leftover - Ik Bwa is Hainanese traditional chewy filled sweets made from glutinous rice flour steamed in a banana leaves casing.  The skin is soft and the sweetness of filling is just right to eat.  The inner fillings are crushed peanuts or shredded  coconut flesh.   Ik Bwa Symbolise fortune, happiness, sweetness and joy.   I am glad to have a chance to try this traditional food! Lucky me.  Berjaya college junior chef was plating the dish. I wish I could help.... I am not from F&B background but I used to wo...

Yum Yum Green Curry Instant Noodle

Green Curry Instant Noodle  After attending A Million Little Things in Strait Quay, I had a quick grocery shop at Sam's Grocery and the words 'Green Curry' caught my eyes. I know I shouldn't buy this kind of food but well I like to try new things you know. Honestly speaking for many people that live oversea, instant noodles indeed a drug to cure your craving for home town's food.  Thus, not to surprise that there are many different flavours of instant noodles coming out in the market in these few years.  The front package, flavours oil and seasoning If you noticed the soup clearly, it was a bit creamy but not green. Yea, I was a bit disappointed with the colour. It is hard for me to describe the flavour as it didn't taste exact like green curry but when I burp, it's green curry. Maybe I should not put high expectation on this kind of food - it is just an instant noodle, isn't it? Similar things when white curry noodles were so popular...

Kidoya Ramen @ Tankung Tokong, Penang

Kidoya Ramen @ Tanjung Tokong, Penang Closed on Wednesday If you are tight in budget and couldn't afford the expensive ramen in other places, have a try before the promotion end.The ramen is so cheap during the promotion period, only RM9.90. I think the promotion is still on since Japanese and Korean restaurant is so competitive around that area. I would say the portion is really worth for the money and it will definitely fill out your tummy.  I bumped into this restaurant while we had no idea what to eat and were so hungry at 4pm. Don't expect too much for the taste though since the selling price is much more cheaper than others like Edo Ichi. Personally think that compare to Zanmai Sushi or Sushi King, ramen here is better, in term of taste and money. Truly, it is very hard to find good Ramen in Penang.  I am pretty fussy with the soup. If the soup meant to be warm, please make it warm! Can't remember how much we paid for saba fish but it ...

Other than that, their food quality is consistent and their customer service is good . It was firstly introduced by one my colleague which is a Korean fans. After that, most of the people we brought there love their food.  For Korean, side dish is part of the traditional food where you must know as a women or a chef.  If a women can make good and many side dish, yeah you can marry this women. Sambal Udang Petai Recipe - Stink Bean with Homemade Prawn Sambal Paste 虾米參巴炒臭豆

Homemade Prawn Sambal Paste & Stink Bean 臭豆不臭 People call it stink bean or 'petai' in Malay because of its strong smell. It lingers in the mouth and body, espe cially the after taste breathe, even when u gas, pee or poo poo. It is something like durian, you like it or hate it! But I love it!  Unlike durian's pungent smell and immediate distinct taste, there is a delayed response when it comes to petai.  As you chew, it slowly emits a pungency similar to garlic.   Now is the season for petai, same as durian. Is it all stink food come in the same season? Petai is gathered from the wild or cultivated tree in the jungles. So, call it organic vegetables from the jungle! I heard from my mom that there was a Malay man who always sold 100 of pods off stink bean to my late-grandfathers passed away because of falling down from the 3 storey high stink bean wild tree.   Mom made too much shrimp paste for 1 cup of petai. You can only see a few petai embedded ...
