Assam Prawn

Assam Prawn Ingredients : To marinate : 500gm prawn 2 tbsp Assam Jawa 1 tbsp sugar 1/4 tsp salt 2 tbsp oil 1 tbsp dark soy sauce  1 cup water Methods 1. Marinate the prawn and set aside for 15 minutes. 2. Heat the oil in a wok and put the prawn into the wok and stir for 5 seconds. 3. Quickly pour the dark soy sauce and water into the wok. 4. Cook until the sauce thicken. Ready to serve.

2nd BSP for GDM

2nd of BSP (blood sugar profile) test for 29 weeks pregnancy.  Carbohydrates day w little protein and fiber. 😅 Hence sugar spike higher than 1st BSP.  Conclusion of this experience :  1. Fact - despite fruits has glucose and fructose, it won't spike your blood sugar. The fiber in the fruits helps regulate by slowing down the sugar absorption into the blood from stomach.  2. Fact - sugary drink respond rapidly in boosting sugar level.  ADVICE to all the Diabetic friends and non-diabetic friends : follow the food plate. 1/4 carbs, 1/4 protein, 1/2 veg + fruits.  I know is hard to follow the food plates.  My golden rules : 1/4 carbs & top up fibers   A.  Post breakfast 1pm   5.1mmol/L Breakfast 10am ( mix berries smoothies + 1/4 big pau w chicken filling + milo)  1130am 1/2 big pear B.  Post Lunch 4pm      6.8mmol/L Lunch @2pm (pan mee + less sugar soy bean milk)  C.  Post dinner 8.30pm.  6.2mmol/L Dinner @ 5.30pm (2 small banana pulut + half wantan mee + pork meat) D. The Consistency of Workout

I wish I am as skinny as the 'me' in the mirror!  But you know what?   Health should not be judged by your body size but how you take care of it!   Guess what's my achievement today? I was amazed because I really hate to do push up. 10 push up! How to achieve that? The consistency of workout.   First of all, educate yourself the  importance of exercise for health.  Second, pick up the   exercise you enjoy   doing it. Third, you need to  be discipline. It would be great if you have  support from people  around. Last , just do it!                                                  

Straits Quay Organic Market

Mushroom burger was selling fast today #organicmarket #linglokitchen It's hard to maintain the niche market and I can be quite demotivated by it sometimes. Anyway, it is meant for fun only. Thanks to those who gave compliment and courage to me early this month so that 'mushroom burger' and 'mushroom balls' back again this evening. Of course, there are people like the special homemade granola bar with no sugar added. Still, I would prefer to do it by pre-order so that I won't be too rush in preparation. When I am relax and calm, I cook better too. 😆

Bike in Yan - Day 1

It is end of 2016, I decided to go back hometown to spend time with my parents for 4 days 3 night. This is the longest period I stay at home besides Chinese New Year.  The most excited thing about going home besides seeing the oldies, I love nature, food and bike! I have a very unique daddy whom likes nature and he is also active in local community. He started to bike since 2009/2010. Thus, bike is a MUST activity back home! Yan is a beautiful place and I am so proud of this place that has beautiful mountains, waterfalls, paddy fields, fish villages, fresh seafood and more...... The Best Home Made Pizza in Penang

Delicious Meatless Homemade Pizza and Salad Seriously this guy made really good pizza and salad. Really. I would say the best homemade pizza in Penang, much better than those in the restaurant. The Hainan Legacy: They Came, They Tasted, They Innovated          2015-8-15: At  Wanning  Association. Thank you Burmah 108 for the special invitation to allow me to join this volunteering  event in Georgetown festival culinary roots and communities dinner - 'modern  Hainanese  meal in an authentic setting'. It has been a great experience for me. The leftover - Ik Bwa is Hainanese traditional chewy filled sweets made from glutinous rice flour steamed in a banana leaves casing.  The skin is soft and the sweetness of filling is just right to eat.  The inner fillings are crushed peanuts or shredded  coconut flesh.   Ik Bwa Symbolise fortune, happiness, sweetness and joy.   I am glad to have a chance to try this traditional food!
